Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Administrator to join our IT team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our network infrastructure, implementing security measures, and automating system administration tasks to enhance productivity. What You’ll Do:
- Server Administration: Manage and maintain Linux server infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- DNS and SSL Management:
- Maintain and administer domain configurations, ensuring proper DNS resolution.
- Handle the issuance, renewal, and installation of SSL certificates for secure server communications.
- Server Troubleshooting and Health Monitoring:
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot server downtimes, performance issues, and other related problems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for server outages and implement preventive measures.
- Implement monitoring tools to track server health metrics, analyze trends, and preemptively address potential issues.
- LEMP Stack Expertise:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux servers running the LEMP stack (Linux, Nginx, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP).
- Optimize and fine-tune the LEMP stack components for optimal performance and scalability.
- Application Load Configuration: Fine-tune server parameters to handle varying application loads and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Security: Implement and maintain server security measures, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for server data.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed system documentation and create operational procedures.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers, helping them resolve server-related issues, and addressing their queries in a timely and professional manner.
You Must Have:
- Experience with working on Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Great at solving problems and figuring out what’s wrong.
- Can write and use scripts to make tasks automatic, like using Bash or Python (for example, creating scripts to automate routine tasks).
- Knows how to control and manage servers using command line tools (e.g., using SSH to connect to servers).
- Understand the principles of DevOps (making software and managing servers better together, like using Docker and Kubernetes).
- Can work with processes that help in building and updating software and managing server settings (e.g., using Git for version control or tools like Ansible for automation).
- Can use tools to watch and fix problems on servers (e.g., New Relic or X-Ray for monitoring and debugging).
- Knows how to keep servers safe, like setting who can access them, using firewalls, and protecting data (using tools like firewalls, managing SSL/TLS certificates, and encryption).
- Good at working with different teams and explaining techie stuff to people who aren’t tech experts.
- Pays close attention to details and can prioritize tasks well, even in a fast-paced environment Enthusiastic about keeping up with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps and server management.
